The Matterhorn (Italian: Cervino, French: Le Cervin, Walliser German: Hore or Horu) stands proudly at 4,478 metres above sea level, a majestic icon of the Alps. Its unique silhouette and deep alpine legacy have made it one of the most recognisable peaks in the world.
To this day, the Matterhorn remains a coveted goal for climbers. Towering between Zermatt and Breuil-Cervinia, it boasts four grand faces—north, east, and west in Switzerland; the south in Italy.
The classic ascent follows the Hörnli Ridge, although alternatives such as the Zmutt and Lion Ridges are available on request.
