Day 1
Meeting in Pampa Linda in the morning. Ascent with ski touring gear through lenga forest and glacial terrain to the Otto Meiling Hut, located between the Castaño Overa and Alerce glaciers. Evening briefing and rest.
Overnight at the Otto Meiling Hut (half board included).
Day 2
Early alpine start for the summit push to the Pico Argentino of Mount Tronador (3,491 m). We’ll ascend across glacial terrain with the use of crampons or ski crampons, depending on conditions. After reaching the summit and enjoying panoramic views of the Andes and Chilean volcanoes, we descend back to the hut and then continue to Pampa Linda.
End of the trip.

Day 1

Day 2
Alpine start for the ascent to Pico Argentino (3,491 m), the most iconic summit of Mount Tronador. After reaching the top and taking in the stunning 360° views over the Patagonian Andes and Chilean volcanoes, we begin the thrilling ski descent down the north face via Río Manso Glacier. Ski back to Pampa Linda.

Ski Touring the araucanía and northern patagonia volcanoes

This is a land of superlatives, a selection of the planet’s highlights. An enchanting mix of smoking volcanoes draped in snow and wild spaces stretching as far as the eye can see though untamed nature, beneath the purest skies on Earth, form the backdrop to your stay.
Tour and ski through classic snow conditions against stunning panoramas then, after your long day’s efforts, relax in superb natural hot springs, and enjoy the warm hospitality, cuisine and wines provided by our Chilean friends.
This is a varied trip where we travel in 4x4 vehicles, alternating between hotels and comfortable local guesthouses (cabanas).
We have been exploring Araucanía, this magical region of Chile, for 10 years and have amassed an impeccable knowledge of the area.
Close supervision (1 guide per 4 clients) and 4x4 transfers, allow us to be extremely flexible and you will sometimes find yourself at the foot of a volcano not featured in any ski touring guidebooks or websites.
Our trip is based around 10 volcanoes stretching from north to south, in six different sectors, in the Araucanía region and northern Patagonia.
